Aerosmith Guitarist Joe Perry Lists Bucolic Spread in Massachusetts for $4.5M (

The longtime Duxbury, Massachusetts home base of fast-fingered blues-rock stylist Joe Perry is on the market as of this month. The New England native is asking $4.5 million for the estate after living there with his family for over thirty years.

A gander from the drive reveals a meandering home with barn architecture and the clean rusticity of 1970s and 1980s builds. The exterior is dressed in weathered cedar shingles contrasted with dark green trim, and features barn-style garage doors, a variety of window shapes, and an eyebrow dormer or two; a cupola caps one section of the structure. The landscaping works in stone walls and a water feature, and in back a large elevated patio overlooks a section of the 7.18-acre property.

Inside the home, stone fireplaces, pine plank ceilings, pine and brick floors, a reclaimed door or two, and post and beam framing establish a living style that is warm, down-to-earth, and visually stimulating.

Amenities in and around the home include a billiards room, a master with a splendid fieldstone fireplace, an attic living space illuminated by the cupola, a barn with a tack room, and a detached, stone-clad guest house with a Dutch door. Downstairs is a piece of rock-n-roll history: the tile floor inlay on the threshold of the storied Boneyard, the studio where the Beantown heroes cut a couple of hit records.

Aerosmith has sold over 150 million records worldwide. Every one of their studio albums since 1989 has found its way into the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 chart, with 1993’s Get a Grip and 1997’s Nine Lives reaching the number one position.

Aerosmith is slated to mark its 50th anniversary with a concert at Fenway Park in September of next year.
